What does touch mean in a world where our haptic experience is often reduced to the smoothness of a touchscreen? What dimensions can touch take on in art—especially when touching is generally prohibited? And what happens when you're suddenly allowed to touch all the artworks in an exhibition?
These questions guided the participants of BerührungsPunkte (Points of Contact)—a collaborative exhibition concept developed by blind, visually impaired, and sighted individuals. Together, they created a space that explores the sense of touch and its associated emotional, social, and aesthetic dimensions. The result is an inclusive, low-barrier exhibition that invites visitors to experience art in a direct, physical way—and fosters dialogue through shared tactile exploration.
