A joined exhibition and fashion Pop Up by Fashion Designer Anne Bernecker and her artist mother Cordelia Jungkunz Bernecker.
Anne Bernecker is a a sustainable Fashion Designer based in Berlin, who has been showing her collections regularly during Berlin Fashion Week. Her work was also part of the “Gallery Looks” exhibition at the prestigious Gemäldegalerie for 6 months earlier this year.
She started the collection in a quest to create fashion which is sustainable. There are so many beautiful clothes and materials in circulation and rather than adding to the never-ending cycle of using resources, her collection celebrates the existing. She uses vintage garments and dead-stock materials, which already have a story to tell, and gives them another lease of life by altering them and adding hand-embroidered embellishments. Each garment is genderless, nonseasonal and one-of-a-kind, as the vintage garments and hand-embellishment all vary a little. Also, each style and its embroidery are limited, adding to the uniqueness of the collection.
For this very special exhibition Anne has curated fine art prints by her mother Cordelia Jungkunz Bernecker, who studied fine arts in the 60’s in Nürnberg with Professor Gerhard Wendland and in Stuttgart with Professor Heinz Trökes.
She had solo exhibitions in Nürnberg, München, Bensheim, Darmstadt and last year in Lorsch where she lived until January 2025.
However, raising Anne on her own she didn’t have the chance to live the artist’s life she was intended for. With this exhibition Anne also wants to give back all the support she received fulfilling her own dream becoming a Fashion designer and to give her mother’s beautiful work an audience it deserves.
