Inside Berlin: A Sanctuary of Concrete returns for its third edition, expanding its ongoing exploration of Berlin’s subcultural and creative landscape through the perspectives of a growing group of artists.

Rooted in the spaces, communities and architectures that have shaped the city from the margins, the project looks at Berlin’s clubs, studios, streets, abandoned structures and informal gathering places as more than physical sites: as sanctuaries. Places that have offered shelter for experimentation, self-expression, community and alternative ways of living.

As many of these spaces continue to disappear under the pressures of redevelopment, commercialization and a rapidly changing city, A Sanctuary of Concrete asks what remains — in our memories, our communities and in the artistic practices that emerge from them.

For its third edition, the exhibition brings together a wider constellation of artists working across different media and perspectives. Rather than attempting to preserve Berlin as a fixed image of what it once was, the project creates a living archive: one that celebrates the people and spaces that continue to shape its cultural underground.
