Kevin Lüdicke
Berlin-based artist Kevin Lüdicke was born in 1991 in Munich and studied at the Universität der Künste in Berlin.
When not painting people, Kevin Lüdicke hints at their existence through everyday objects, recreation and play. His surrealist scenes are straight out of a dream, drawing detailed depictions of people with flower pots for heads, floating horses, and plants and water from our natural world, but portrayed in a way that could only be created by Lüdicke. With nature being an infinite source of inspiration for the artist, it frequently enters his drawings, paintings and more obviously, his fountains. Lüdicke has proven that anything can become a fountain, such as a car, a water bottle in a traveller’s rucksack, or even stairs. Inviting a playful nature into the works comes naturally to Lüdicke, whose pieces incite curiosity and the desire to lean in and touch. The line that Kevin Lüdicke walks between design and art allows him to create pieces, such as his fountains, that truly use the medium that fascinates him, complementing his drawings and paintings featuring water as a motif.
His recent shows include a solo show at Galerie Gegen & Lücke, as well as other presentations at Kunstverein Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz, ‘Hallen 06’ at the Wilhelm Hallen with Galerie Gegen & Lücke, and Galerie Durchgang in Basel.
