Björn Heyn
Using golf-clubs as paintbrush extenders and at times even golf balls to place paint on to the canvas, Heyn’s works are the product of calculated fun, and a child-like freedom of expression. His bright compositions, incorporating collage, drawing and painting onto a single canvas, feel intuitive and yet relatable. The works speak to viewers of all ages, referencing collective childhood memories and fine art history alike, striking a powerful balance between connection and innovation. Up close, the works reveal an incredible finesse, revealing the artist’s confident navigation of his chosen material, but stepping away, their bold colours and graphic linework remind us of the ultimate artists: children. Heyn has mastered the art of expression and skill, staying true to his impulses while confidently making his mark on the art world.
Björn Heyn has presented his work at ‘Salon der Gegenwart’ in Hamburg, ‘Hallen 06’ with Galerie Gegen & Lücke, and at GAMA RAMA Gallery in Faro. His works have been shown internationally in Faro, Luxembourg, Bern, Berlin, Basel, Lisbon and Antwerp, among others.
